COVID-19 Response
Members of the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition are staying connected virtually and working to determine next steps in response to the impacts of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. Safe streets remain an important issue during this period of physical distancing, as vehicle speeding has increased and crowded public sidewalks and trails are places the virus can spread. Along with partners, the Vision Zero Coalition released a statement (4/13/20) and guidelines (6/16/20) for municipalities.
The Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition advocates for the implementation of Vision Zero in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville, and for the reduction of traffic injuries and deaths across Massachusetts. The new and growing coalition includes community-based organizations, nonprofits, businesses, civic groups and individuals representing communities across the state.
Vision Zero is a strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all. Learn more about the groups and individuals that are part of the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition.
