World Day of Remembrance 2016 Memorial Walk & Vigil

Sunday, November 20th is the 2016 World Day of Remembrance. Stand in solidarity to honor those who have been injured or killed by a road traffic crash. The vast majority of these crashes are preventable. In numbers, we can recognize our loved ones, and also demand change.

12:00pm: Remembrance bike ride gathers in Copley Square (Facebook event for the ride here)
12:30pm: Ride departs from Copley Square
1:30pm: Memorial walk gathers in Boston Common at Beacon St and Charles St
1:45pm: Memorial walk departs, heading toward Massachusetts State House
2:00pm: Rally on the steps of Massachusetts State House (speakers TBA)

World Day of Remembrance is an annual, international event during which we gather as a community to reflect upon those we've lost and and commit ourselves to improve our roads. To learn more about World Day of Remembrance, click here

This event is organized by the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition.

#CrashNotAccident Awareness Campaign

A crucial component of Vision Zero is directly improving the streets where crashes are taking place. To draw attention to these places and to remember those who have died on our streets, the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition is placing plastic cut-outs representing traffic fatalities throughout the Boston area in the days leading up to the World Day of Remembrance 2016.
